Question of the Week - What gets you up in the morning?

God's love and His precious promises in His holy book.

Banned Books Books - The Exile of Classics from Schoolrooms

We are now in a technological, fast-going, unsympathetic, non-empathetic, and low morals era... hardly anyone cares about building good characters internally and the ability to vocalize them externally. I too am glad that I had that reading experience.

Reader Challenges - What's Your Sentence?

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Reader Challenges - DailyLit Slogan

A little Lit. bit by bit... Your Dailylit!

Question of the Week - People I Wish I Had Known

I wish I had known Malcom X and Martin Luther King, Jr.

Poems by Emily Dickinson - Charlotte Bronte's Grave

This poem written by Emily Dickinson is actually alluding to the death of Charlotte. Emily sees Charlotte as a little bird who has suffered and at last has entered the pearly gates of heaven; her final resting home.

"Gathered from many wanderings,
Gethsemane can tell
Through what transporting anguish
She reached the asphodel!...Soft fall the sounds of Eden
Upon her puzzled ear;
Oh, what an afternoon for heaven,
When 'Bronte' entered there!"

Reader Challenges - 50 Word Fright

They found his body on the top of a hill, all bent and twisted around a big cedar tree.
They dug a hole and threw him inside. Afraid that he would come back after three days, they “Planted” him.
Exactly three days after he died, he came back.
It happened…

The Count of Monte Cristo - origin of concept

I read an excerpt from this book. Sounds very intriguing...what will they do to stop the poor lad from marrying the girl of his dreams? Hm mm....I wonder.

Reader Challenges - Drip, drip, drip...

Water is LIFE. I realized that when I developed multiple medical complications years ago. My doctor was not sure that I would recover. I then started to read about the benefits of water and started my water treatment...It has been over 17 years and I have never felt better. Thanks to WATER I am cured!
W=weight A=alleviator T=that E=ensures R=relief (WATER)

Question of the Week - DailyLit is...

DailyLit is like...
Water to the parched tongue
Music to the dried and stiff bones
Food to the hungry emaciated body
And love to the unloved.
It is what keeps us connected to the "Worldwide Read".

Question of the Week - Influential Books

1.The BIBLE- A complete book in itself. It is so compact. It touches all areas of life. The BEST book ever.

3.The Silver Sword by Ian Serraillier

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #71: Reading Together, Reading Alone

Absolutely! Any book that deals with Religion or Politics MUST definitely be discussed in a group...Shared. Whereas, books that deal with the emotions(Very sentimental side) must be read ALONE. :) Sharls3js

Reader Challenges - Your Words That Matter

Don’t be afraid of a little FRICTION or GRAVITY because, FRICTION prevents us from “passing our place with others” while “GRAVITY” keeps us "down to earth" when we think that we are "way above" the others. : ) Sharls3js

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #65: What would you do?

Hi Susan. I would prefer a PD format because then it would be easier to download and share with those under-privileged children close to home. I was referring to Traditional Children Literature such as "The Basket of Flowers", "Little Women", "The Little Princess", "Hansel and Gretel","Anne of Green Gables", The Secret Garden", etc... And Fictional Lit. like "Snow White", "Rapunzel","The Little Mermaid" and so on and so forth.

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #70: Day Jobs

I have so many favorite authors. Gosh, this is so difficult! I would have to say Danielle Steel.
I have often envision her day job to be an "Early Childhood school teacher." Her writing styles exude patience, love, and determination... all the qualities of such a teacher.

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #69: Books on Tumblr

"TUMBLITS" would be perfect!

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #68: Autobiographies

My Life and Work - An Autobiography of Henry Ford.
This is a very inspiring book. It is so awesome!
This book is about Mr. Ford's unique way of thinking and what he did with those thoughts.
Mr. Ford made millions because of that!

Always follow your dreams and make the difference!
