Question of the Week - Question of the Week #63: Remakes

I loved the remake of "I Am Legend" but not the theatrical ending. I loved the alternate ending which brought out the central question of the novel--If humanity changes--what does it mean to be human?

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #14: Books You Hate

Hated Catcher--so unrelentingly depressing.
Hate almost all of Robert Heinlein. The story lines are all the same: Old guy boffs young girl/woman as young protege boffs age appropriate young woman, they make babies and there is always a reference to nipples being hard or deflated. Monstrous. Stranger in a Strange Land was better than most.

Reader Challenges - Love Bites

Drove 135 miles after closing the store to ask me to marry him, slept 2 hours and drove back to open the store the next day.

Little Brother - How scary is this???

I am amazed. What a story and the characters are so well written. I appreciated the development of the hero, not a bad ass, not a warrior, but someone who didn't give up, and wouldn't shut up. We need more like him!!!!

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #34: You: The Book

I would be a science fiction book. Most of the things that happen are unbelievable, but there is just enough truth there you wonder if it did really happen.

Reader Challenges - Summer Vacation in Six Words

Loved, Laughed, Danced, Cartoons, grandchild here!

2BRO2B - 2BR02B

Excellent study of untenable trade-offs. Some will argue for freedom of choice and some will argue for control. I think the author reviews this very basic choice by extending the consequences of each choice to their painful extremes. No choice lives in a vacuum, every choice has consequences.

Reader Challenges - 6 Word Autobiography

birth, potential, desperation, satisfaction, contentment, bye-bye!
