The war ended, finally. Only Grandma and young Rose survived.
Grandma died.
Bereft and alone, Rose worked hard tending fields full of flowers, hives full of bees.
All summer she sold honeycakes to Charles. It was love.
They live happily still, in a cottage surrounded by flowers, guarded by bees.
