30 Stories in 30 Days - Wellinton's stories are great-and addictive-food for thought
David Wellington has managed to delight and awe with this series of 30 stories. While I almost made it, I'll admit to hitting the "next instalment" button twice on Day 29 to finish the gory task.
I loved the unexpected. Details one would expect in a normal life, with a twist. The one-word titles, the sparse, yet descriptive prose, the clin d'oeil to famous villains, the variety of settings, the creepy insight into human nature, and the melding and wielding of new technology.
I had the most fun laughing out loud while reading one story on my BlackBerry.
He has dug deep into the human psyche, pondered evil from all possible angles, and come up with surprising, off-the-wall, at times plausible, stories that readers of sci-fi are sure to gobble up.
Wellington's stories are like hot peppers, or chocolates, which a true fan cannot leave untouched. They are great-and addictive-food for thought.
Any plans for the next 30?
