DailyLit Launches “Wikipedia Tours”

Tours of Knowledge in Daily E-mail/RSS Installments Made Available by Innovative Digital Publisher

Mamaroneck, New York - May 13, 2008 - DailyLit (www.dailylit.com), the leading digital publisher of entire books sent via e-mail/RSS in short, serialized installments, today announced its newest feature that allows users to receive daily installments from Wikipedia.

Topics ranging from “Major World Religions” to “Wine 101” are broken down into respective sub-sections and sent in individual installments from DailyLit.com. Each installment contains a brief introduction to a sub-category (e.g. “Buddhism” or “Chardonnay”) and includes a link to the relevant part of Wikipedia for more detailed reading. Additional Wikipedia Tours include: “Wonders of the World”; “Presidents of the United States”; “‘Best Picture’ Oscar Winners”; “Famous Poets”; “World Capitals”; “Famous Inventors”; “Famous Women Throughout History”; and “Greek Mythology”.

These tours are available from Wikipedia thanks to Creative Commons licensing, and installments sent from DailyLit are free of charge. Currently there are ten topics to choose from with additional topics to follow in the coming months.

“We are excited to feature Wikipedia Tours on DailyLit and provide daily ‘food for thought’ on all sorts of subjects,” said Susan Danziger, President and Publisher of DailyLit. “There is something truly compelling about learning a subject matter a little at a time each day. This has worked well for our Berlitz language lessons and our Kaplan SAT course since studying over time is much easier than trying to master a body of knowledge in one sitting.”
