Paranoia - Great, keeps you on the edge of your seat

As surprised as I was to enjoy a book like this (not generally my cup of tea), I couldn't stop reading it. It was a great introduction to Finder's work, and I'm actually willing to admit that I'd be interested in reading other books of his now. I definitely recommend this one.

Reader Challenges - Classics in 6 Words

Pride and Prejudice: About time they got over themselves.

Emeril at the Grill - Mouth-watering, even just in text

I'm usually not a big fan of cookbooks that don't come with pictures, but, man, the way this is described and the ingredients that are involved, I couldn't help but picture all of this in my mind. And - no surprises here - they look even better in real life, and taste just as good, too!

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #30: Books Go To Camp

Oh, man, summer camp. The time of year my mom always told me that I needed to unpack about eight of those books so I could fit my sneakers into my suitcase instead. For me, summer is traditionally when I get to read "fun books" rather than textbooks and "real literature", so my summer reading tends to be a little lighter reading - usually catching up on books that buzz rather than the more philosophic lit.

When I was younger, this usually consisted of toting around my copies of The Boxcar Children, The Babysitters' Club or Nancy Drew (I was a big fan of campy mysteries - pun intended) - I still have complete collections of all of those books. This later transitioned into Mary Higgins Clark books and similar books, usually still mysteries.

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #27: Beachy Reads

Agreed, starshy. I absolutely love rereading books from my childhood, and what better time to do that than in the summer? I try to reread The Phantom Tollbooth every summer. I swear, that one never gets old.

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #27: Beachy Reads

I love to read funny, light-hearted books when I'm out in the summer, especially at the beach. I usually end up falling asleep on the sand, so I like something that doesn't require my full, undivided attention for hours at a time (like a lot of what I have to read for my major).

I usually bring a David Sedaris book along with me when I go on vacation, and last summer I read "Marley and Me" on the beach. It was perfect - it was entertaining but grounded, and I love that I got to read that while I was on vacation and could relax with it.
