Question of the Week - Pivotal Moments in Life
My pivotal moment came when I was about 25, still living at home and doing the student thing, and my mother threw my boyfriend out on Christmas Eve. He hadn't done anything horrible, he just didn't have anywhere else to go (his car broke down on his way out of town to visit his relatives), so I invited him over to my family's place. Big mistake. Mom FLIPPED, screaming about how Christmas was all about family, and he wasn't family, and so she wanted him OUT. I realized that a) I should have moved out years ago, and b) my relationship with her was never going to be the same again.
Question of the Week - Swooning Over Heathcliff
Not to criticize, but I've never understood why Austen fans have been swooning over Mr. Darcy for so long. I'd rather have Mr. Knightley any day! He's just as rich as Darcy, and much more sensitive, perceptive, gentlemanly, and pleasant. If I couldn't have Mr. Knightley, my inner child still wants Tom Sawyer to be her boyfriend, because a date that involves playing hooky to go exploring caves and eating freshly caught fish sounds like the best. Date. Ever.
