Bugs - After a few years....email not working today?
And yes things are back flowing. Just requested and it arrived.
Bugs - After a few years....email not working today?
And...while I have an artistic bent for an icon...I sadly don't have one with all red on my face cause that would be appropriate right about now. User error. I have a spam folder that flows into my main mailbox, and the spam folder filled up. Normally this is not an issue.
Well I am glad DailyLit helped make me aware AND made me institute some protocols for change.
Bugs - After a few years....email not working today?
So this didn't work...since I didn't see any email (likely meaning the dailylit.com domain is being blocked.)...very odd! I am going to add it to a whitelist and try again.
Bugs - After a few years....email not working today?
Today is the first day in years that Daily Lit's daily email and resend requests have stopped. I have tried quite a variety of things to no avail.
I read the FAQ as well.

The Lost World - Great Read
Exciting and riveting. This book was a thrilling read and one that I read quickly. I was happily surprised how the story held up in these modern times.
The Jungle - Amazing, Historical?, Riveting.
I had always had this book on a list, and finally when reading it, Sinclair's character development is truly gut wrenching. The knowledge of a modern reader to know gritty books with seedy underbellies were not the norm can be seen as a true classic of literature. If you are interested in why America is today the way it is, re-read this book.
The Adventure of the Speckled Band - Loved It
Is there a better character? Well written and entertaining.
The Mysterious Affair at Styles - Amazing First Work
One more thing this was the first DailyLit book that I constantly found myself requesting the next installment and not waiting. It was a real page turner.
The Mysterious Affair at Styles - Amazing First Work
I am biased as a fan of Agatha Christie. I had never read this, her first novel and I was surprised at how well she crafted the story, the twists, the intrigue.
Today's sophisticated audience can still be dazzled by the work she puts forth.
As a footnote - I think Monk is clearly a modern day Hercule Poirot.
Ideas - Review vs. Forum
I am not sure the difference between a review or a forum post on a book. I have just read 3 books, but each one I "reviewed" two were in the forum's and that is tied to my profile, while my review in the third (most recent) doesn't show up in my profile. Also the rating system would be great to show off how a person rates things and for things unrated I could be prompted to rate them.
How to Live on 24 Hours a Day - Meh
This was ok, but not very practical. I took note of the time it was written in my saying it was "ok." If you read it from a historical context you might be interested. At the time I signed up I was overwhelmed and hoping this would help me out. It did not really do that.
Art of Money Getting - Art of Money Getting Forum
This was a quick read and while I read this as my second book here, it was very accurate in terms of business today. I enjoyed this as a change of pace from fiction.
I also liked the historic nature of the author, gave it some perspective.
The Enchanted Castle - Just finished..first thoughts
I just finished this. The author writes from an older time with various capitalization stylings that strike the reader from start to finish.
The story ebbs and flows in terms of excitement and slower parts. You will certainly have a favorite character or too.
This was my first DailyLit book and I found the breaks very well positioned. Often times very cliff hanger like.
