  Amazing I started reading this because I considered it "required" reading, but the story (horrible though as it was) and the beauty of the prose soon pulled me in. Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass - Amazing

I started reading this because I considered it "required" reading, but the story (horrible though as it was) and the beauty of the prose soon pulled me in. The spirit of the man rang out in this writing. I enjoyed it very much and look forward to reading more.
