Question of the Week - Great Movie Adaptations
The version of Jane Eyre that featured Timothy Dalton and Zelah Clark, 1983 used actual dialogue from the book, and left very little out. It is the truest as far as I have seen. I know later versions left out a great deal, and unless you'd read the book, were quite confusing as to motivations etc. I've read the book innumerable times, so I know. :)
