Bugs - Pictures not included
I am reading the World War and What was behind it by Louis P. Benezet and am really enjoying it...however, the pictures and maps are not includd. It is easy to do without pictures but without maps, it is difficult to understand a lot of things...can this be looked into??
Reader Challenges - Group Challenge: Contribute to the Story
Some thought it was merely because they wanted to be so, because apparently, they had everything one could care vor.
Etc. - Question of the Week #18:"Liberty or Death!"
"They all crossed into forbidden territory. They all tampered with the laws that lay down who should be loved, and how. And how much." -from the bestseller "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy
Question of the Week - Fiction or Nonfiction?
fiction manages to get an edge over the non-fiction!
Question of the Week - What's Your Favorite Word?
phantasmagoria! --i for some unknown reason, particularly like the sound of the word!
Question of the Week - DailyLit-erary New Years' Resolutions
Although almost halfway into 2011, I plan to read up my collection of books at home that have been on my shelf for variable periods of time: (a few months, 1year, 11/2 year )*sigh* as well as making a list of all the books as i read them so that i can evaluate my reading speed by how many books I've read in the year (& to retain their names & authors in the memory!) !!!
So to the books...my haven!
Question of the Week - Favorite Lines of Poetry
I met last night in Stealth with wisdom's elder,
And asked him to divulge in full life secrets,
This he whispered softly, softly in my ear,
They can't be told, they must be seen, so hush.
-Translation from Masnavi of Rumi
Question of the Week - Great Film Lines
"How does your dog do everything you tell it to? Do you give it a bone, pat it...?"
"I don't know, just out of love I s'pose."
"He can't. Men don't, even dogs can't."
"You're forgetting, he's a Japanese, not an American." -Hachiko
Book Requests - Paulo Coelho
oh yes. His work is certainly what i would like to see here.
Fetching Raymond - Fetching Raymond
This story had a tone! It reflected how life just goes on in spite of all the "big happenings," we sometimes so trouble over. It also reflected however, the lack of close relationships in the existing world. I was lost in the story long after i had finished it.
Byron's Poetical Works - To Eliza -Byron's Poetical Works
oops! i am sorry i never knew that. Thanks for letting me know.
Byron's Poetical Works - To Eliza -Byron's Poetical Works
I was having a pretty enjoyable time reading this book before i came to installment 30/164. The poem is downright blasphemous, and projects religious intolerance. It upset me to think that such a renowned poet can be so close-minded and biased when talking of another sect. As for the accusations on the Prophet and the religion: it shows the poets absolute ignorance of its true teachings. Poems like these should be condemned, and i'm only too sorry if this wasn't done during the time of the poet. This poem brought down all my opinion of him.
Etc. - Question of the Week #19: Favorite Poems
I simply can't shorten the list to one:
Fire and Ice -Robert Frost
I Speak not, I trace not, I breathe not thy name -Lord Byron
Trees -Joyce Kilmer
Cat In Moonlight.
Through moonlight`s milk
She slowly passes
As soft as silk
Between tall grasses.
I watch her go
So sleek and white
As white as snow
The moon so bright
I hardly know
White moon, white fur,
Which is the light
And which is her.
Douglas Gibson.
Solitude -Ella Wheeler Wilcox
The Woman who understands -John Everard Appleton
and Cat in Moonlight

Question of the Week - Question of the Week #38: Books on Repeat
Harry Potter!!! I read book 1 more than 15 times, and book 2 more than 20 times! I never managed to do that again with another book. It always seemed that there are too many books out there waiting to be read, and re-reading stuff that many times: it makes me feel like i would be losing time and opportunities. After all, life's short!
Or maybe because i never again read a book with that much indulgence. Soon after, I started reading classics and reviews, and got the tendency of being a critical reader.
Question of the Week - Question of the Week #61: Joycean Challenges
A Room with a view - i never got past the intro. and the first six pages!
The Minister's Black Veil - The Minister's Black Veil

Kate Chopin maintains a thorough tone in her prose that makes it all the more interesting to read. The plot is well planned and beautifully presented. Its the kind of story you would hang on to, long past the time you read it. Immersing and unforgettable.
The 50th Law - The 50th law.
This is a great book on self-help. The text it inspiring and the writing style is easy, comprehensible laden with interesting examples. Bravo!
Bugs - Leaves of Grass
I've taken the subscription of Whitman's "Leaves of Grass"
It's text is not formatted.
I tried to change the text with the 'change settings' option but that didn't help either.
The Yellow Wallpaper - This book is a wonder psychological thriller. A must read.
The symbolism by Gilbert is well woven, and the writing style is gripping. You shouldn't miss this and DO try to get to the symbolism. Just great!!
Frankenstein - Better Than Expected!
The writing style of the book was exceptionally awesome.
