There’s no Sherlock Holmes or even Dr. Watson in this novel, only the truculent Dr. Challenger, who has discovered a lost world of dinosaurs living in South America. An expedition goes to explore his discovery and much adventure ensues.
Though familiar with Sherlock Holmes, I had never actually READ any of Doyle's stuff. This was tremendous. If it had been written today, someone would pressure him into making it a trilogy. Best introduction one could have to dailylit, as every day was like a cliff hanger.
I truly love a well-written book of adventure, intrigue, love forlorn, etc. etc. Prior to reading this book I was largely unaware of anything that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle had written and very heartily recommend this to any other like minded readers and/or writers. His style is infectious, and his descriptions excellent. Towards the last 5 chapters, I was riveted and could not receive the daily issue fast enough.

In short, I absolutely loved it.
